Autonomous cars are fast becoming a reality and with that vision, our concept of driving will soon be transformed.
As increasingly automated and autonomous cars become a reality, features such as see-through displays, driver visibility, automated capability and how a car responds to changing lighting conditions become a necessity and not a choice. Autonomous cars are expected to provide a comfortable, relaxed interior with compelling features that elevate driver experience and safety at the same time.
AlphaMicron’s liquid crystal-based light reactive technologies have found a natural home in the automotive industry. We have several ongoing projects to enhance auto features, including:
- New LC-based rearview mirrors that transform into a display;
- See-through displays adapted to be visible in all lighting conditions;
- Electronically-controlled all-glass roofs, providing openness while blocking direct sunlight as needed;
- Windshields that adjust to lighting conditions or driver privacy preferences;
- Films that enable changing interior themes
