2018 – AMI designs the first Transitional Combat Eyewear Protection (TCEP) to meet MIL-SPEC
Created by AlphaMicron in response to Army’s need for Transitional Combat Eyewear Protection (TCEP), the first-ever electronically controllable eyewear is now in production and can be purchased. The CTRL eyewear switches from clear to dark in 0.1 seconds, less time than the blink of an eye.
In this unique, multidimensional protective eyewear, ballistic lenses are combined with Electronic Tint-on-Demand™ liquid crystal technology (e-Tint) to enhance tactical capability and provide protection by enabling automatic switching when lighting conditions shift (for example, moving from the outdoor sunshine into a dark building). By having a hands-free instantaneous switching capability, soldiers are not required to remove their sunglasses, and their eyes remain protected at all times.
